My name is Scott Jacobs and I started Fire Alarm Partners because throughout my many years in the industry I saw a lot issues with life safety, expensive equipment that didn’t work very well, shoddy installation, poor customer service, and unhappy installers and techs. Fortunately, very little of that happened at my own company.

When I started in this industry in the 1980s I though very conventionally about the systems, the technology, the work, and the company where I worked. As I progressed from working for someone else to starting my own company and running it for close to 30 years, I took a look around and saw that the conventional approach was not necessarily the right approach. Since we were a small, underfinanced, independent fire alarm company, we had to do something that made us stand out. I slowly started implementing some of my new ideas at my own company and found that they helped us become a little better than we could have been. My company, even though it was smaller than the big guys, was successful for the entire 30 years.

1988-1994 – Worked for a large fire alarm company that shall be nameless.

1995 – 2023 – Started and ran my own company, ISC Electronic Systems, Inc.

2023 – Present – Started and ran Fire Alarm Partners

1999 – Present – Principal Member of the Committee on Fundamentals of Fire Alarm Systems of NFPA 72 – The National Fire Alarm Code

2018 – Present Principal Member of the Committee for NFPA 3, Commissioning Fire Alarm Systems and for NFPA 4, Testing of Fire Alarm Systems.

1993 – 2005 – California Contractor’s License for Fire Alarm Systems

Certified as a Level IV Senior Fire Technician by NICET
